Gentari has performed another Raya miracle for EV charging infrastructure in the East Coast as they have turned on two long-awaited new DC charging locations along the LPT highway between Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan. This comes after Gentari recently turned on its Gua Musang EV charging location that offers 200kW of DC charging with 4 bays.
Gentari 150kW DC Charger at Perasing R&R

Gentari has deployed a 150kW Kempower DC Charging solution with four bays at Perasing R&R. These chargers are assisted by a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), a solution mean to overcome power supply constraints in the area.
Essentially, the BESS acts as a reserve tank to store sufficient energy in order to provide DC fast charging. Users can view the battery’s state of charge from the LED indicators on the BESS or via the Gentari Go app. To ensure more EV drivers can top up at the location, these BESS-assisted stations come with a charging cap, which will automatically stop charging your EV when it hits 80%.

Afterall, it is recommended not to charge beyond 80% as the time it takes to charge the final 20% is significantly longer due to the charging curve. For EV road trips, it is best to charge what you need at R&R stops and continue driving. You can top up again when required or when you arrive at the destination.
As shown in the pictures above, there are currently four satellite terminals and it appears that there’s room to add at least two more terminals in the future.

Following the recent price revision, Gentari’s BESS-assisted chargers are priced at RM1.80 per kWh. However, if you have the annual Gentari Go Power Pass membership plan, you can enjoy the 50% off discounted rate of RM0.90 per kWh.

What makes this Perasing R&R location different from other R&Rs is that it’s accessible from both Westbound and Eastbound directions on LPT. It is located about 193km away from Kuala Terengganu and 36km away from Kuantan.
Gentari’s charger at Perasing R&R is located closer to the main food court, before Shell Perasing R&R.

Besides Gentari’s 150kW DC Charger, there’s also a 180kW Shell Recharge DC Charger at Perasing R&R which is priced at RM2.20 per kWh and the ParkEasy app requires a minimum balance of RM100 to activate the chargers.
As part of the Raya promo, Shell Recharge is currently offering up to 100% rebate for its HPC EV chargers in the East Coast from 24th March until 4th April 2025.
Gentari 150kW DC Charger at Ajil (Westbound)

For those travelling out from Kuala Terengganu heading towards Kuantan, Gentari has deployed a 150kW DC Charging site at Ajil R&R Westbound. Similar to other BESS-assisted sites along the North-South Expressway, this location features a portable modular station design that houses two standalone Kempower DC chargers and battery packs at the back.

Each of these Kempower DC chargers come with two CCS2 nozzles, and they are also priced at RM1.80 per kWh. Users with Gentari Go Power Pass Membership plan can enjoy 50% off and the charger costs RM0.90 per kWh.

The Gentari DC charging site at Ajil R&R Southbound is located 40km away from Kuala Terengganu and 188km away from Kuantan.
These chargers can be activated via the Gentari Go app.
