Besides the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8, Samsung Malaysia has also introduced the new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9.
For the latest smartwatches, Samsung has ditched its Exynos smartwatch chip in favour of Qualcomm’s latest 3nm Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform. As a result, the new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 are claimed to have improved CPU and GPU performance, and better GPS accuracy compared to their predecessors.

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 specs and features

Built for outdoor adventures and endurance sports, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is Samsung’s most capable smartwatch yet. It is powered by the new Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform, paired with 2GB RAM and 64GB of storage.
The new Watch Ultra 2 screen is slightly bigger with a 1.52-inch (498×498) Super AMOLED Always-On Display (Galaxy Watch: 1.5″) protected by Sapphire Crystal. It also has a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits for improved visibility under bright sunlight, making it the brightest display on the smartwatch right now.
One of the biggest hardware upgrades is the new 800mAh battery, which Samsung says is 35% larger than the previous Galaxy Watch Ultra. Despite the bigger battery, Samsung still manages to reduce the watch’s thickness and have made some design changes to improve comfort and stability for all-day wear.
The Titanium Shock Resistant case is now 10.7mm slim, which is 12% thinner than before (Galaxy Watch: 12.1mm), while the new band is softer and lighter, measuring at just 1.9mm thin.

As the name suggests, the new Ultra 2 is built to withstand harsh environments with 10ATM+, IP69K, MIL-STD-810H and EN13319 certifications.
Available only in a single variant, it supports LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC and dual-frequency L1+L5 GPS.

Samsung has also added several new professional level sports tracking features. One of them is Trail Run which provides detailed elevation and terrain data for runners, while Nutrition Alert estimates sweat loss and recommends hydration during supported activities.
The Watch Ultra 2 is also designed as a Professional Diving Certified tool as it can automatically detect dives and record depth, dive time and water temperature.

Samsung is also partnering with Mares to introduce more advanced diving features as they are developing a Dive computer app for the Wear OS platform.
Like the Galaxy Watch 9, the Ultra 2 also introduces Samsung’s latest AI-powered health features including Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index and Hearing, which provide personalised health insights based on continuous biometric monitoring.
Galaxy Watch 9 specs and features

The Galaxy Watch 9 is Samsung’s latest everyday smartwatch. It gets an aluminium watch case and available in 40mm and 44mm sizes. Like its Ultra sibling, it is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite Platform with 2GB RAM, but comes with 32GB of storage.
The 44mm model features a 1.47-inch (480×480) Super AMOLED display, while the 40mm version gets a smaller 1.34-inch (438×438) panel. Both offer an Always-On Display with brightness of up to 3,000 nits, making them easier to read outdoors. Both sizes also get Sapphire Crystal for better scratch resistance.
Battery capacity is rated at 445mAh for the 44mm model and 390mAh for the 40mm version, with support for WPC-based fast wireless charging.

Samsung says the Galaxy Watch 9 has been redesigned for a closer and more natural fit on the wrist with new soft-touch bands for improved all-day comfort.
It also supports the same AI-powered health suite as the Ultra 2, including Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index and Hearing, helping users better understand their health, fitness and recovery through continuous monitoring.

The Galaxy Watch 9 gets 5ATM+ and IP68 rated dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H certification. In terms of connectivity, it also supports WiFi, NFC, L1+L5 dual-frequency GPS.
Both smartwatches run Wear OS 7 with One UI 9 Watch and are compatible with Android smartphones running Android 13 or later with at least 1.5GB of RAM.
