Nothing has finally officially pulled off the curtain, unveiling its first-ever “true flagship” smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3). It looks different, is now more powerful, has better cameras, and is pricier too. Let’s dive into what Nothing’s brand-new flagship is all about.
Nothing Phone (3): Out with the Glyph Lights, in with the Glyph Matrix

One thing that’s been kept the same from its predecessors is its transparent design language, as well as its Black and White colour options. However, gone are the Glyph Lights that have been with past Nothing Phones. Instead, the Nothing Phone (3) now comes with what Nothing is calling the Glyph Matrix on its back.
Essentially, the Glyph Matrix is a round matrix display with 489 individual LEDs, located on the top right of the phone’s back panel. It can be used to display information such as notifications using combinations of sound and light for each of your contacts, caller ID, or be utilised as a volume indicator, camera countdown, or a selfie monitor, albeit a grayscale and pixelated one.

Move downwards and you will find a capacitive button Nothing calls the Glyph Button. You can press it to cycle through tools, widgets, and also Glyph Toys, a series of interactive graphics you can play with.
Also new is a red recording light that will light up when you’re recording video or audio on the Nothing Phone (3). Despite its unique design, the Nothing Phone (3) is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.
Nothing Phone (3): Flagship Premium-midrange Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, Quad-50MP cameras

Despite claiming the Nothing Phone (3) as its first true flagship smartphone, Nothing didn’t fit it with Qualcomm’s best-of-the-best mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Instead, we get the brand’s latest premium-midrange SoC, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, which is definitely no slouch, but certainly not what people might traditionally associate with the term “flagship”.
Anyway, the global variant of the Nothing Phone (3) can be had with either 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage or 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Up front, the Nothing Phone (3) is equipped with a 6.67″ 1.5K (2800×1260) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

Now onto its cameras. Upon its unveiling, people have immediately gotten rather divisive on the Nothing Phone (3)’s rear camera design, making it a design that you either love or hate. Personally, I like what I see as it’s a rarity to see smartphones with such daring and unique design in this day and age.
Anyway, the Nothing Phone (3) sports a total of four 50MP cameras — three at the back and one up front. Let’s start with its rear camera setup first. You get a 50MP f/1.68 main camera with a 1/1.3″ sensor and OIS, a 50MP f/2.68 periscope telephoto camera that’s capable of 3x optical zoom with OIS, as well as a 50MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter. For selfies, there’s the 50MP f/2.2 snapper.

Powering the Nothing Phone (3) is a 5,150mAh battery. You can charge this phone using a USB-C cable at 65W or wirelessly at 15W. It can also do reverse charging via USB-C and wirelessly at 7.5W and 5W, respectively.
Software-wise, the Nothing Phone (3) runs on the brand’s Nothing OS 3.5, placed atop Android 15, and is promised to receive up to 5 years of major OS and 7 years of security updates. Nothing says its Nothing OS 4.0 that’s based on Android 16 will be coming as soon as Q3 2025.
