BYD Sime Motors has officially launched BYD Atto 2 in Malaysia which is the first right-hand drive (RHD) market to receive the new electric SUV. Atto 2 is the third BYD model to have made its way to Malaysia this year, following the Atto 3 Ultra and Denza D9.
BYD Atto 2 Malaysia pricing, colourways, warranty

In Malaysia, the Atto 2 can be obtained in just one variant which is called the Atto 2 Premium. As for pricing, the Atto 2 Premium is available with a starting price of RM100,000.
The new model can be obtained in three colourways including Ski White, Harbour Grey, and Breeze Green. Regardless of the exterior colourway that you choose, all Atto 2 in Malaysia come with an all-black interior and vegan leather upholstery. Customers will also receive a complementary Vehicle-to-Load adapter as well as a 3-pin portable EV charger (granny charger).

The Atto 2 comes standard with a 6-year / 150,000km vehicle warranty alongside a separate 8-year / 160,000km warranty for its high-voltage battery. There is also a dedicated 8-year / 150,000km warranty for the EV’s drive unit.
BYD Atto 2 Easy Ownership Package: free mobile DC charging at home and more

For the first 800 customers, they are entitled to the Atto 2 Easy Ownership Package. This offering is essentially divided into two portions, including Easy Charging solution.
Depending on your home, the Easy Charging solution offers a free wall charger for those who live in landed properties. For those who live in high-rise properties, they can opt for the Sime Platinum 4+ Package by Power-Up.
This 12-month package includes 4x mobile door-to-door DC charging per month, together with 2x car detailing per month and 2x free EV rescue per year. However, do note that this package is only available for selected areas.
The second portion of the Easy Ownership Packager is Easy Payment. Under this offer, customers might be able to enjoy RM0 instalment for the first 6 months, although it has to go through Sime Motor’s Panel Banks.
BYD Atto 2 Malaysia quick specs

In case you are wondering about its physique, the BYD Atto 2 is 4,290mm long, 1,770mm wide, and 1,570mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,620mm. Hence, the electric SUV is around the size of Proton X50 but with a wheelbase that is slightly shorter than Atto 2 (2,720mm) and Dolphin (2,700mm).
It might be smaller than the Atto 3 but the Atto 2 still has almost comparable boot space of 400L. You can increase the amount of boot space to 1,340L once you fold down its rear seats.
For our market, the Atto 2 is equipped with an LFP-based BYD Blade battery with a capacity of 51.13kWh which is larger than what is currently available in China and European markets. This enables the Malaysian variant to deliver a slightly longer range of 410km.

However, that figure is based on the NEDC standards. Given that the previously released Dolphin Standard Range has similar NEDC range rating, that means the Atto 2 WLTP-rated rating should be identical to its hatchback sibling which is 340km.
When it comes to charging, the Atto 2 in Malaysia can support DC charging speed of 82kW. The electric SUV is also equipped with 7kW AC charging module, similar to Dolphin and Atto 3 Ultra.

The Atto 2 Premium for Malaysia also features a front-wheel drive setup with a 130kW (174hp) electric motor that also produces 290Nm of torque – similar to the European and high-spec Chinese options. In terms of performance, the Malaysian unit is capable of going from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Other features that are also included with Atto 2 for our market are ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, 12.8-inch rotatable infotainment display, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 6 airbags, Macpherson strut front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension, and 17-inch wheels with 215/60 tyres.
