CMF Phone 2 teased, to feature a triple rear camera setup?

Nothing has dropped a teaser for a new phone under its CMF subbrand on its community page. Although no name has been announced just yet, many are expecting this to be the CMF Phone 2.

With a tagline that reads “In search of the perfect shot”, the teaser essentially showed what seems to be the smartphone’s rear camera island, which consists of a single camera module along with a flash. But is that what it really is? The CMF Phone 1 already came with a dual camera setup, so it’s unlikely for CMF to issue a downgrade for its successor, right?

CMF Phone 2 to feature a new ultra-wide-angle camera?

After a bit of Googling, I found a couple of what look to be leaked real-life and render images of the CMF Phone 2, sporting two large cameras arranged in a vertical orientation, similar to what we saw on the Phone 1.

So, where does the single camera and flash module from the teaser come in? Well, in the leaked images, that module is placed just right beside the larger camera lenses. Could this mean the CMF Phone 2 will receive an additional ultra-wide-angle camera? At the moment of writing, we have no official details to confirm this just yet, but we sure hope so.

Teaser by Nothing.

Aside from the new camera lens, Nothing’s official teaser also showed us an outline of the CMF Phone 2’s motherboard. This makes us wonder, will CMF’s next smartphone follow Nothing’s lineup by going transparent? Well, the “leaked” images say otherwise, but we will have to wait until the phone is officially confirmed to be sure.

Beyond its design, the CMF Phone 2 is rumoured to come with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display, which, like most other Android midrangers, will feature a 120Hz refresh rate, along with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 chipset at its core. Keeping lights on is said to be a 5,000mAh battery that can handle wired charging at 33W.

Like last year’s CMF Phone, we can expect to see the Phone 2 to carry on with the brand’s unique modular design, which allows you to remove the phone’s back cover. There’s also the Accessory Point system which you can use to accessorise your phones with lanyards, or even attach a stand or card case onto it to make your phone more versatile.

Also, we might be seeing a new CMF Watch and wireless earbuds being launched together with the CMF Phone 2.
