Oppo Reno 10 series Malaysian launch happening on 6 July

Oppo Malaysia is launching its new Reno 10 series this week and one of it will be running on a flagship-class Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. While the Oppo Find X6 Pro won’t be coming to Malaysia, the new range-topping Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ 5G is probably the best alternative if you’re looking for a flagship Oppo smartphone.

The Oppo Reno 10 series was launched in China in May with three models – the Reno 10, Reno 10 Pro and the Reno 10 Pro+. And in case you didn’t notice, Oppo Malaysia is skipping the Reno 9 series and the latest lineup jumps straight from Oppo Reno 8.

The Oppo Reno 10 Pro+ is the “flagship” of the lineup and it gets a 6.74″ 120Hz OLED display which pushes a resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with support for 5G. In China, the device comes with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a choice of either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

In the camera department, the Reno 10 Pro+ gets a versatile triple-camera setup with a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, 64MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. For selfies, the device gets a 32MP front shooter that sits in a tiny punch-hole. Powering the device is a 4,700mAh battery with support for 100W SuperVOOC fast wired charging via USB-C.

Besides the Pro+, there’s also the Reno 10 and 10 Pro with upper-mid-range hardware. Based on China’s spec sheet, the Oppo Reno 10 gets a 6.7″ 120Hz AMOLED display that pushes 2412×1080 pixels resolution and it runs on a Snapdragon 778G processor. For camera, it gets a 64MP f/1.7 main camera, 32MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

Meanwhile, the Reno 10 Pro gets a 6.74″ 120Hz OLED 2772×1240 pixels resolution display which is similar to the Pro+ but it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8200. The cameras are also quite similar with the Pro+ except that the telephoto camera settles for a 32MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom. Both Reno 10 and Reno 10 Pro gets a 32MP selfie camera and a 4,600mAh battery. The Reno 10 Pro in China still gets 100W fast wired charging while the Reno 10 gets a slightly slower 80W fast wired charging.

However, do note that the Malaysian specs might be different. From the Oppo Reno 10 teaser page on Oppo Malaysia’s website, the Reno 10 Pro gets an 80W SuperVOOC flash charge while the standard Reno 10 settles for a 67W Flash charge.

The official launch event will be streamed live at 11:00am this Thursday, 6th July 2023. You can watch the Reno 10 series launch from the Youtube embed below:
