Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 purported promo image leaked. Try to spot the difference

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 are expected to be unveiled at the end of next month. For the first time, Samsung is said to be organising its first Galaxy Unpacked event on their home ground in South Korea towards the final week of July. Ahead of the launch, we now get to see the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in what appears to be the first leak of its promo images thanks to MySmartPrice.

What you’re seeing here is the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 in light blue and it looks pretty much identical to the current Galaxy Z Fold 4. While it is hard to tell the two foldable devices apart, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to have thinner bezels and is likely to have a less visible crease on the internal folding display. It still features a triple-camera setup at the rear that’s housed in a vertical camera bump. From this angle, it seems that the “thigh gap” is narrower in the latest iteration. Similar to previous generations, the new Z Fold 5 also supports the S Pen but there’s still no dedicated silo to keep the stylus like the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Being the latest foldable flagship device, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to come with a custom “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” which can be configured with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Since there’s no massive design change, you can expect the Z Fold 5 to retain a similar 7.6″ AMOLED display on the inside while the cover gets a 6.2″ Full HD+ AMOLED panel.

According to MySmartPrice, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will go on sale in the US and Canada on 11th August, which is a few weeks after the global unveil in Seoul. Since Malaysia is a key market for Samsung, we reckon pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 in Malaysia will start right after the Unpacked Event.
