The entire MRT 2 Putrajaya Line will finally be fully operational starting Thursday, 16 March 2023 at 3pm. The opening of Phase 2 of the new MRT line was shared by MRT Corp and commuters can travel from Kwasa Damansara all the way to Putrajaya Sentral.
MRT 2 Putrajaya Line (formerly known as SSP: Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line) is the second MRT line in Malaysia and it uses Hyundai-Rotem train sets that come with a distinctive duck face design in red. The line has a total of 49 driverless train sets consisting of four cars with a maximum capacity of 1,204 per train.
Phase 1 of MRT 2 Putrajaya Line was opened on 16th June 2022 with a total of 12 stations from Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu. On 16th March, commuters will be able to continue their journey down south through Kentonmen, Jalan Ipoh, Sentul Barat, Titiwangsa, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Raja Uda, Ampang Park, Persiaran KLCC, Conlay, Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), Chan Sow Lin, Kuchai, Taman Naga Emas, Sungai Besi, Serdang Raya Utara, Serdang Raya Selatan, Serdang Jaya, UPM, Taman Equine, Putra Permai, 16 Sierra, Cyberjaya Utara, Cyberjaya City Centre and Putrajaya Sentral.
MRT 2 Phase 2 has a couple of interchanges which include Kwasa Damansara (MRT 1), Titiwangsa (Monorail, Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT), Ampang Park (Kelana Jaya Line), Tun Razak Exchange TRX (MRT 1), Chan Sow Lin (Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT), Sungai Besi (Sri Petaling LRT) and Putrajaya Sentral (KLIA Ekspres/Transit)
