COVID-19: Over 2,000 new cases reported for 4 straight days, 4 states record over 300 cases today

Malaysia has recorded 2,195 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 375,054. There are 8 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,378.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,427 new recoveries and a total of 353,822 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 94.34% while the mortality rate remains at 0.37%.

There are currently 19,854 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 219 are in ICU while 90 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,195 new cases today, 10 are imported while 2,185 are transmitted locally. Sarawak recorded the most with 508 cases, followed by Selangor with 431 cases, Johor with 387 cases and Kelantan with 332 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 5 new clusters today and 3 are workplace related. This include Selat Klang and Cahaya Alam construction site clusters in Selangor, Jalan Perindustrian Satu cluster in Johor, as well as Tarat Tani and Jalan Bintulu-Sibu clusters in Sarawak.

A total of 64 clusters have recorded new cases today. The newly identified Jalan Perindustrian Satu cluster recorded the most with 249 cases, followed by Kok Lanas cluster with 74 cases and Kampung Bunut Sarang Burung cluster with 43 cases.
