Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Malaysia: Thinner, lighter foldable with Tensor G6, priced from RM7,999

Google has also refreshed its foldable smartphone lineup with the Pixel 11 Pro Fold and it is officially coming to Malaysia alongside the rest of the Pixel 11 series next week.

The new bookstyle foldable Made by Google gets a thinner and lighter design, improved performance with Google’s new Tensor G6 chip and an upgraded 48MP main camera. It also gets faster wireless charging up to 25W as it supports Qi 2.2 standard.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Specs and Features

On the outside, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold gets a 6.5-inch 19.5:9 Super Actua OLED display pushing 2342×1080 pixels resolution with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate. It is protected by an ultra-durable glass ceramic cover glass and boasts up to 2,400 nits for HDR and 3,600 nits peak brightness.

Unfolding the phone reveals an 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED display pushing 2152×2076 pixels resolution. It also offers an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate and the same 2,400-nit HDR and 3,600-nit peak brightness ratings.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold measures 10.1mm thick when folded and just 5.0mm when unfolded, excluding the camera bump. It weighs 239g which is significantly lighter than last year’s Fold which weighs 258g.

Under the hood is Google’s Tensor G6 processor paired with the Titan M3 security coprocessor and 16GB of RAM. For Malaysia, the device comes with 256GB and 512GB storage options.

In the camera department, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold comes with a triple-camera setup consisting of a 48MP f/1.70 main camera, a 10.5MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with autofocus and Macro Focus, and a 10.8MP f/3.1 telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation and 5x optical zoom. If you can to push further, it also supports Super Zoom up to 30x.

There are two 10MP cameras for selfies, with one on the cover display and another on the inner display. You can also use the rear cameras for selfies while using the cover display as a viewfinder.

The foldable form factor enables features such as Dual Screen Preview, Rear Camera Selfie, Tabletop mode and Made You Look. Among the built-in camera features include Magic Capture, Camera Looks, Camera Coach, Add Me, Night Sight, Auto Best Take and Pro controls.

For video, the rear cameras support up to 4K recording at 60fps, along with Video Boost, Night Sight Video, Creator Suite, Audio Magic Eraser and 10-bit HDR video. The front camera also supports up to 4K 60fps recording.

The new HiLight feature on the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL is also available on the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. HiLight uses RGB lights around the rear camera flash to provide dynamic notification for favourite contacts and when you use Gemini Intelligence.

Keeping the lights on is a 4,750mAh typical battery, which is smaller than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 5,015mAh capacity. However, battery life on paper appears to be unchanged with Google claiming more than 24 hours of battery life on a single charge.

With fast wired charging, it can get to 50% in about 30 minutes using a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Similar to other smartphones in the Pixel 11 lineup, the new Fold also supports Pixelsnap wireless charging at up to 25W and is Qi2.2-certified.

For connectivity, there’s WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC and Ultra-Wideband. The phone also supports dual SIM with one physical Nano SIM and eSIM.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold still gets an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and it features ultra-durable composite matte back with a satin finish and a spacecraft-grade aluminium frame.

New Gemini Intelligence features

Like the rest of the Pixel 11 family, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold gets Google’s new Gemini Intelligence features. Using a combination of on-device processing through Tensor G6 and cloud-based AI, Gemini Intelligence can understand context across supported apps and proactively surface relevant information without requiring you to constantly jump between apps.

Gemini Intelligence can suggest checking your Calendar availability if your current conversation is talking about a meet up for dinner. If someone in the conversation mentions the name of a restaurant, it can bring up a Maps preview showing photos of popular dishes, reviews and navigation options directly from the chat.

Google has also introduced a new Rambler feature for voice input which is great if you struggle to form complete sentences without any mistakes. Using AI, Rambler can detect and remove unwanted filler words such as “um” or “ah” and then convert your natural speech into a cleaner draft. You also get to view the content so that you can still refine or reformat the text before sending it.

Other new AI enhanced features include expanded Live Translate capabilities for supported videos, podcasts and voice messages. Meanwhile, Circle to Search is also now available within the Pixel Camera app, allowing you to identify objects or translate text without taking a photo.

The Pixel 11 Pro Fold launches with Android 17 out of the box and Google promises 7 years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates.
