Astro has officially kicked off its 30th Anniversary campaign, themed “Thank You Malaysia”, running from 13 August 2026 to 31 October 2026.
To celebrate the milestone, the broadcast operator is offering a range of promotions, including unbilled channel unlocks, new pop-up channels, platform upgrades for NJOI, and physical events across the country.
Free access to full channel lineup and Astro X3
From 15 August to 16 September 2026, all active Astro subscribers will receive complimentary access to Astro’s full channel lineup.
During this same window, customers can also access the newly launched Astro X3 service on compatible Smart TVs. This allows users to stream content through the Astro app without requiring an additional set-top box.
Two complimentary pop-up channels with movies, concerts, and anime
Astro is rolling out two dedicated pop-up channels as part of the celebrations.
The first is Astro 30 (CH 100), which will air from 15 August to 31 October 2026. The channel features a selection of international blockbusters, fan-favourite programmes, and concerts.
Content highlights include all eight Spider-Man feature films, BTS: Love Yourself in New York Concert Film, How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, Borneo Rising, Big Stage Rocketfuel Final, Tekad: Ekspedisi Guthrie Everest 2026, and Tom Tom Bak Reboot.
Astro 30 will also premiere five original telemovies produced specifically for the anniversary.
The second pop-up channel is ANIPLUS (CH 120), available from 15 August to 31 December 2026. It will broadcast recent Japanese anime series, including Trapped in a Dating Sim 2: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs and Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life.
NJOI free tier expanded to 26 channels
NJOI customers receive a permanent content boost starting 13 August 2026. Four additional channels: Astro Prima (CH 105), Astro Oasis (CH 106), Astro AEC (CH 306), and Stadium Astro (CH 802), have been added to the free tier.
This addition increases the total number of Free-to-Air (FTA) channels available on NJOI to 26.
Astro30 Showcase at Pavilion KL on 23 August
Astro will host a public showcase event on Sunday, 23 August 2026, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the main entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
The event will feature live performances and appearances by local artistes, including ALPHA, Cik B, Aisha Retno, Vanessa Reynauld, Auddra, and Azeva. Contestants from Talk To My Manager 2 (including Anggerik and Amarra) and the winners of Big Stage Rocketfuel and Big Stage Tamil will also perform.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the cast of upcoming local productions, such as Wolong: The Mastermind, Visham, Kudrat, and the rally legend biopic Terbang. Selected Astro customers will be granted access to an exclusive VIP Rock Zone for closer viewing.
KITA FM nationwide tour and official theme song
Astro Audio is launching KITA FM 2026, an initiative featuring a nationwide bus tour, live outdoor broadcasts, meet-and-greet sessions, and interactive activities.
The tour kicks off on Merdeka Day at Dataran Putrajaya before wrapping up in Kuching, Sarawak, on 16 September 2026. Ahead of the tour, KITA FM will release its official multilingual theme song, titled “KITA”, across major streaming platforms on 17 August 2026.
