BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport Malaysia: Longer wheelbase EV priced from RM252k, up to 433km range

BMW Group Malaysia has officially revealed the pricing for the BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport, a long-wheelbase version of its compact electric SAV that was first shown locally back in January 2026.

The new iX1 L focuses on improved rear passenger space thanks to its stretched wheelbase, while retaining its fully electric setup and delivering up to 433km of WLTP-rated range.

The new iX1 L costs just RM2,000 more than the current standard wheelbase version, and it is priced lower than its earlier indicated price tag of RM255,000.

BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport price in Malaysia

The BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport is officially priced from RM252,800 (on-the-road, without insurance) in Malaysia. With BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI), it costs RM268,600.

For reference, the standard wheelbase BMW iX1 eDrive20 is currently priced from RM250,800. This means the long wheelbase iX1 L commands a RM2,000 premium which is a small price to pay for added rear space and longer dimensions.

The BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI) package provides greater peace of mind with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, along with 5 years / 100,000km of service coverage. The service coverage for BMW EVs extends to 6 years with unlimited mileage, and there’s also an 8-year high-voltage battery warranty.

Customers also get BMW Roadside Assistance which provides 24/7 emergency support including towing, courtesy cars, and hotel accommodation in the event of an
unprecedented emergency.

As highlighted earlier, the longer wheelbase iX1 is aimed at improving passenger comfort. The wheelbase is extended by 110mm and the overall length is increased by 116mm.

This results in increased rear legroom by 81mm and increased rear kneeroom by 107mm. The rear seats also offer softer foam with an additional 15mm extension to the cushion base.

BMW Malaysia has also opted for comfort-oriented suspension for the iX1 L over the Adaptive M suspension that was equipped in the standard iX1.

The BMW iX1 eDrive20L also comes equipped with Driving Assistance Plus as standard. The package provides the fully electric SAV with additional ADAS  features such as Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Steering & Lane Control Assistant, Speed Limit Info and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Return.

BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport: 201hp and up to 433km WLTP-rated range

The BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport still retains a single-motor front-wheel drive setup that delivers 150kW (201hp) and 250Nm of torque. This enables the SAV to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of 170km/h.

The equipped 64.7kWh battery (usable capacity), provides a WLTP-rated range of up to 433km. As a reference, the standard wheelbase iX1 has a WLTP-rated range of up to 475km.

For charging, the iX1 L supports AC charging at up to 11kW, while DC fast charging goes up to 130kW. BMW claims that this EV can do 10-80% charge in 29 minutes.

If you need a longer EV, the latest BMW iX3 is expected to come to Malaysia later this year in long wheelbase form. The BMW iX3 50L xDrive was recently unveiled during Auto China 2026, boasting over 900km of CLTC-rated range and 400kW DC fast charging. This is also the brand’s first 800V based EV as part of its new Neue Klasse lineup.
