FastEV is a new charge point operator, and they have introduced what is described as the first locally developed EV charging app in Sarawak.
Operated by SDEC Karuna JV Sdn Bhd (SJKV), they have launched two EV charging locations in Kuching which consists of AC and DC charge points.
To celebrate the launch, FastEV is offering FREE RM100 charging credit for new users who sign up from 17th November 2025 to 17th February 2026.

FastEV has deployed a 120kW DC Charger with two CCS2 nozzles at Plaza Merdeka which are priced at RM1.20 per minute (RM18 for 15 minutes). Meanwhile, they have also deployed a single 22kW AC charge point located at The Waterfront Hotel, which is priced at RM0.30 per minute (RM18 per hour).
To activate and pay for these chargers, you’ll need to use the FastEV app which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Users can reload the FastEV wallet balance via S Pay Global or Credit/Debit Card and other eWallets via the Senang Pay gateway.
FastEV targets to deploy 400 EV chargers in Sarawak by 2030
As reported by TVS, SKJV is a joint venture between Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SEDC) and Karuna, a company that’s majority-owned by the state government. The joint venture acts as SDEC’s implementation agency to drive commercialisation of smart cities using integrated technologies such as IoT, AI and smart mobility.
Under Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), SKJV has been tasked to expand the EV charging network across major cities and towns in the state. It targets to deploy 400 EV chargers by 2030 to ensure smooth and seamless intertown journeys for EV owners.
