Oppo Find X9 in Malaysia: Specs and features

The most obvious change made to the Oppo Find X9 series over its predecessor is its design. As mentioned above, it looks more like the mid-range Oppo Reno 14 series than its predecessor, featuring a square camera island at the top left corner of the phone, rather than the big, rounded Oreo-like design that its predecessors have had over the past couple of years.

Materials-wise, you get a matte glass finish at the back, wrapped in a matte aluminium frame. In terms of colours, the Oppo Find X9 is offered in Titanium Grey, Space Black, and Velvet Red, while the Pro model can be had in Silk White and Titanium Charcoal options.

Oppo has also brought over the capacitive Quick Button from its 2024 flagships to the Find X9 series, allowing users to use it to snap pictures, control the zoom function, as well as quickly launch the camera app.

Rated at IP66, 68, and 69 for dust and water resistance, the Oppo Find X9 series features bezels that are not only symmetrical on all sides but are also razor-thin at just 1.15mm.

Housed within the bezels of the Oppo Find X9 is a 6.59″ 120Hz AMOLED display that pushes out 2760×1256 pixels of resolution, along with a 3,600 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, the Oppo Find X9 series is said to be one of the first globally available smartphones to be powered by MediaTek’s latest and greatest mobile chipset, the Dimensity 9500. This is then paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

Now, let’s talk about imaging. Like its predecessor, the Oppo Find X9 sports an array of cameras that have been co-developed by Hasselblad. Specifically, you get a tri-camera setup at the back that consists of an OIS-equipped 50MP f/.6 main shooter with a 1/1.4″ Sony LYT-808 sensor, a 50MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera with a 1/2.75″ Samsung JN5 sensor, and a 50MP f/2.6 OIS-equipped 3x periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95″ Sony LYT-600 sensor.

Interestingly, you also get an additional “True Color” sensor for greater colour accuracy. Handling selfies at the front is a 32MP f/2.4 camera.

Aside from this, the Oppo Find X9 series is claimed to be the industry’s first capable of capturing 4K motion photos. In fact, all four of the phone’s cameras, including the selfie shooter, are able to shoot Dolby Vision HDR videos at up to 4K 60fps. The main and telephoto cameras can go even further at up to 120fps.

But if that’s not enough, you can attach the Oppo Hasselblad Teleconverter kit to the smartphone. This 70mm telephoto lens allows your phone to zoom all the way to 230mm. Not to forget, the Quick Button that first appeared on the Find X8 series is also here on the Find X9, allowing users to quickly launch the camera app, snap pictures, and use it as a zoom dial.

Keeping lights on for the Oppo Find X9 is a 7,025mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is nearly 25% larger than the 5,630mAh unit found in last year’s Find X8. Charging can be done at 80W via Oppo’s SuperVooc technology, and up to 55W using a USB PD charger. The smartphone can also handle 50W wireless charging with Oppo’s AirVooc wireless tech, and can offer 10W reverse wireless charging.

Out of the box, the Find X9 runs on ColorOS 16, which is based on Android 16. It’s said to be faster, smoother and features iOS 26 Liquid Glass-like design elements. There’s also a new feature called AI Mind Space. Essentially inspired by Nothing’s Essential Space, AI Mind Space lets users quickly save content on the screen (text, images or links). It then intelligently stores, categorises and surfaces that content in one unified hub so you can easily find it later, including via the Gemini AI chatbot.

Here are the extras you get with the Find X9 Pro

By spending more for the Oppo Find X9 Pro, you first get a larger 6.78″ 120Hz AMOLED display that comes with LTPO tech and a resolution of 2772×1272.

Imaging-wise, you get a more powerful 50MP f/1.5 main camera with a 1/1.28″ Sony LYT-828. The main highlight, however, is the 200MP f/2.1 periscope telephoto that’s backed by a 1/1.56″ Samsung HP5 sensor. There’s also a 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera up front, an upgrade from the regular model’s 32MP unit.

Aside from a better display and camera, the Find X9 Pro also offers a larger 7,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is said to deliver up to two days of battery life.
