Various dealers have opened the order books for Denza D9 in Malaysia. This is even though Denza technically has not yet made its official debut in our market.
Nevertheless, this is still in line with what the Managing Director of BYD Malaysia, Eagle Zhao has said before, that Denza will be launched in our market within Q1 of 2025. Based on what we’ve seen so far, it appears that the Denza D9 will be the only model that the premium sub-brand of BYD introduce at its upcoming Malaysian launch.

Based on our search through social media, here are the Denza dealerships that already accepting bookings for the new Denza D9:
- Denza Sime Motors

Do note that the official list of Denza dealerships in Malaysia has not yet been released, so our list above is likely incomplete at the moment. In addition to that, the official booking fee has not yet been set since Denza’s launch in Malaysia has not yet taken place.
That being said, there will be a refundable booking fee involved if you want to book the Denza D9 right away. As a rule of thumb, make sure that you deposit the booking fee into the dealership’s official bank account and get the official receipt.
Denza vehicles will not be displayed at existing BYD showrooms
Meanwhile, you may notice that the dealership list above looked rather familiar. This is because every single one of them is an existing BYD dealer.
Despite that, we were told that Denza will not be featured inside existing BYD showrooms which mirrors the arrangement in China. The brand will have its own showrooms since Denza has a more premium positioning and is targeted at a slightly different clientele than BYD’s mass-market models.
It is still possible that both BYD and Denza showrooms are located in the same building but they will not be sharing the same general space. We were also told that Denza showrooms are currently under renovation and most of them will likely be ready as we get closer to the brand’s official debut in Malaysia.
Denza D9 quick specs
For now, it is unclear how many variants of Denza D9 will be released in Malaysia. Over in Singapore, the 7-seater electric MPV can be obtained in two options.
Equipped with a front-wheel drive setup, the Denza D9 Elite comes with a 230kW electric motor that also has a maximum torque of 360Nm. Capable of going from 0 to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds, this variant offers a WLTP-rated range of 520km.
The second variant in Singapore is called Denza D9 Grandeur which features an all-wheel drive setup. Its dual motor delivers a total power output of 275kW and 470Nm of torque. While this variant has a quicker 0 to 100km/h timing at 6.9 seconds, its WLTP-rated range is slightly lower at 480km.
Regardless of the variants, both Denza D9 options are powered by a 103.36kWh LFP-based BYD Blade Battery pack. Over in Singapore, they come standard with an 11kW 3-phase AC onboard charger and are able to support DC charging speeds of up to 166kW.
Denza D9 recently has been earmarked as one of the EVs that will be involved in BYD and Grab’s new regional partnership. So, it seems likely that the new electric MPV will join Grab’s fleet in Malaysia.
