GWM Malaysia launches 4S service centres in Seremban and Penang

GWM Malaysia, the company that distributes the Ora Good Cat and the upcoming Haval H6 and GWM Cannon, has just launched their two new 4S service centres in Butterworth, Penang and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan. The two outlets are operated by GWM’s dealer partners CS Euro Auto Sdn Bhd and Seremban Victory Credit Sdn Bhd.

According to GWM, the new 4S centres will strengthen its dealer network and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences across Peninsular Malaysia, especially for customers in the two states. The opening of the Seremban Victory Credit Sdn Bhd outlet was officiated by Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Besides being a point of sale for GWM’s new energy vehicles, the 4S centres also aim to provide customers assurance with convenient access to service and genuine spare parts. The GWM Penang outlet spans 25,000 sq ft with 6 service bays while GWM Seremban has an 11,000 sq ft floor area with 4 service bays. Prior to this, GWM recently opened its 4S centre in USJ.

During the launch event, the Transport Minister shared that the upcoming proposed road tax structure aims to encourage people to adopt electric vehicles. Acknowledging concerns about the potential increase in road tax, Loke revealed the road tax for EVs will be lower than petrol-powered vehicles under the proposed formula. The new structure will be announced this year before the current road tax exemption for EVs ends on 31st December 2025.

EVs are practically tax-free in Malaysia at the moment as fully imported EVs (CBU) are exempted from import and excise duties until the end of 2025. Meanwhile, locally assembled EVs (CKD) are also tax exempted until the end of 2027.
