Xiaomi 13 Ultra with Leica co-engineered cameras coming to Malaysia soon

Xiaomi’s ultimate flagship photography smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, is finally coming to Malaysia. Xiaomi Malaysia has dropped a teaser hinting that the new flagship smartphone with a quad-camera setup co-engineered with Leica will be announced next Tuesday, 20th June 2023.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra was launched in China in April with a starting price of CNY 5,999 (about RM3,878). Depending on the RAM and storage configuration, we reckon that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will likely be priced above RM5,000 considering the current Xiaomi 13 Pro is currently going for RM4,599 with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

To recap, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a 6.73″ WQHD+ LTPO OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip mated with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

In the camera department, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra gets a 50MP main camera with Sony’s 1″ IMX989 sensor and a variable f/1.9-f/4.0 aperture lens. Accompanying it is a 50MP f/1.8 ultra-wide angle camera and two 50MP telephoto cameras. The first zoom lens is a 75mm f/1.8 unit while the 120mm super-telephoto camera has a periscope f/3.0 lens. For selfies, it gets a 32MP front camera that sits in a tiny punch-hole of the screen.

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra gets a 5,000mAh battery which supports 90W fast wired charging via USB-C as well as 50W wireless fast charging. It also gets stereo speakers and IP68-rated dust and water resistance. Out of the box, it runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top.

According to DxOMark, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is ranked at #14, which is a step below the iPhone 13 Pro and its previous Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. You can learn more in our Xiaomi 13 Ultra announcement post.
