Time offers 500Mbps Fibre for RM119/month and 1Gbps for RM179/month under Pakej MyKabel

In support of the government’s Pakej Perpaduan fixed broadband plan, Time introduced its Pakej MyKabel which offers 100Mbps fibre broadband for only RM69/month. For B40, OKU and senior citizens that require higher broadband speeds, Time is also offering discounted subscription fees for its 500Mbps and 1Gbps options on MyKabel.

As spotted in their FAQ, besides offering RM30 off x 24 months for the 100Mbps plan, Time is also offering RM20 off x 24 months for the 500Mbps and 1Gbps options. The discount is only applicable during the 24-month period and it’s for customers who sign up during the Pakej MyKabel promotional period between 15th November 2022 to 31st December 2023.

Normal Time Fibre Broadband subscription rates

To recap, Time currently offers 100Mbps for RM99/month, 500Mbps for RM139/month, 1Gbps for RM199/month and 2Gbps for RM379/month. With this promo, eligible subscribers under Pakej MyKabel can enjoy 500Mbps for only RM119/month while 1Gbps is going for RM179/month after the RM20/month rebate.

As highlighted previously, the Pakej MyKabel is only available at selected Program Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) housing as listed below:

  • PPR Kampung Baru HICOM, Selangor
  • PPR Kota Damansara, Selangor
  • PPR Lembah Subang, Selangor
  • PPR Taman Putra Damai, Selangor (Lembah Subang 1)
  • PPR Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur
  • PPR UDA Utama, Johor
  • PPR Taman Perling, Johor (Jalan Rawa 1)
  • PPR Taman Perling, Johor (Jalan Rawa 7)

The FAQ also stated that existing Time subscribers who are eligible and residing in Pakej MyKabel areas will be able to switch to the cheaper Pakej MyKabel plans after serving 6 months of their contract. However, the contract will reset for another 24 months. The Pakej MyKabel appears to be running before the government’s Pakej Perpaduan initiative and users who previously enjoyed RM20 off for the 100Mbps plan will automatically get RM30 off for the remainder of the contract. It is also mentioned that users can upgrade their plans from 100Mbps to the higher 500Mbps or 1Gbps options, but they will get a lower RM20/month rebate. Time allows you to downgrade after the 7th month, but you will lose your monthly discount perks and the contract is also restarted for another 24 months.
