Samsung Malaysia enabled ECG and blood pressure tracking for the Galaxy Watch 5 last month after getting the green light from Malaysian health regulators. If you’re using the previous generation Galaxy Watch 4, the same ECG and Blood Pressure tracking features are now rolling out to you.
@LowyatNET @Soya_Cincau not sure if anyone informed you all but this showed up on my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 after I updated it yesterday with the latest firmware! And yes I can install Samsung Health Monitor app too from Galaxy Store and it works pic.twitter.com/1eLBkLsNyS

To get the ECG and Blood pressure features, you will need to update your Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 to the latest firmware and install the Samsung Health Monitor app from the Galaxy Store. After that, you should be able to conduct a measurement directly from your wrist.
The Samsung Health Monitor app has been registered under Malaysia’s Medical Device Authority Register. To use the blood pressure tracker feature, you would first need to calibrate it with a cuff-based blood pressure monitor on your arm. To maintain accurate measurements, recalibration is required every 28 days. This is due to its optical-based sensor which is different from the Huawei Watch D which uses a dual-layer airbag to measure your blood pressure.
Besides the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, Samsung Malaysia has confirmed that the feature will also be coming to the Galaxy Watch 3 series at a later date. The hardware for most recent Galaxy Watch devices does support ECG and Blood Pressure monitoring, however, it was disabled out of the box due to regulatory requirements. This was also the same situation for the Apple Watch which obtained approval from local health regulators to enable ECG in 2021.
Thanks to @zacaaron for the tip!
