The Oppo Find N2 is probably the closest challenger to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 but unfortunately, it isn’t released outside of China. If you’re looking for something more compact, the Oppo Find N2 Flip will be launching internationally and you can expect it to come to Malaysia very soon. Oppo has revealed that the Find N2 Flip will be getting its global launch this week on 15th February 2023.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip Global Launch event is happening at 14:30 GMT in London, which is at 10:30pm Malaysian time. You can watch the event via a live stream on YouTube.
The Find N2 Flip is essentially a clamshell smartphone with a foldable display which will compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series. It was launched in China back in December 2022 alongside its larger Find N2. The Find N2 Flip gets a 6.8″ AMOLED LTPO 2 display with a 2520×1080 pixels resolution which supports a refresh rate of 1-120Hz and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The cover gets a rather large vertical 3.2″ display which pushes 720×382 pixels resolution.
In China, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. In terms of cameras, it gets a dual-camera setup with Hasselblad enhancements which consists of a 50MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the inside, there’s a 32MP selfie camera that sits in a punch-hole.
Despite its compact size, the Find N2 Flip gets a 4,300mAh battery which supports 44W SuperVOOC fast charging. The device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor but there’s no wireless charging and it lacks IP68 water resistance. In China, the Oppo Find N2 Flip is priced from CNY5,999 which is about RM3,825, which is slightly cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which was launched with a starting price tag of RM4,099.
Ahead of the global event, Oppo has released a couple of teaser videos which claim that the Find N2 flip will offer a seamless design with an “invisible crease”. This sounds like a bold claim but we’ve seen a couple of foldables from Chinese manufacturers that have managed to reduce the crease and the “thigh gap” significantly.
