Axiata Group Berhad has launched its Cyber Fusion Centre (ACFC) at Celcom’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya as part of the nation’s efforts to advocate Cyber Resilience to advance Malaysia as a digitally progressive nation. The facility was launched by Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa. Celcom will be amongst its first users of the cybersecurity facility to serve organisational needs in Governance Risk and Compliance, Strategy and Architecture for IT and Telecommunications Security.
According to the official statement, both Axiata and Celcom are committed to accelerate digitalisation across Malaysia’s ecosystem by driving innovative solutions and services with bringing world-class international and local technology partners. On top of supporting and safeguarding digital data for Enterprises, the ACFC is designed to enable modern-day threat monitoring, hunting and protection of monitored assets and business continuity. It also offers comprehensive cybersecurity and business continuity solutions covering protective, detective and responsive capabilities.
Celcom says they are committed to reaching out to small and big enterprises, as well as the public sector to introduce practical solutions to help businesses in connecting people, players and machines from around the world with Mobile, Fixed, IoT solutions, real-time insights, cloud and cybersecurity solutions.
Axiata’s Group Chief Corporate Officer Asri Hassan said, “At Axiata, our long-term investment, and the launch of our ACFC are part of the Group’s Digital Trust and Resilience focus that is ultimately aimed at taking an all-of-society approach towards enhancing cyber
resilience. Since 2018, together with Celcom, we have invested over RM65 million to bolster cyber security capabilities in Malaysia. The ACFC is the latest in this series of investments and we are confident that the ACFC will add significant value towards realising our aspiration of becoming a digital champion in the region, while also contributing towards creating a thriving and conducive ecosystem of cybersecurity competency in Malaysia.”
He added, “ACFC is a platform to catalyse public-private partnerships and collaborations to heighten cyber resilience within the nation’s ecosystem. We are also committed to digital talent growth as the ACFC will serve as an incubation ground to grow and develop Malaysian cyber experts.”
Meanwhile, Celcom’s Chief Executive Officer Datuk Idham Nawawi said “Celcom as a major industry player is committed to ensure the delivery of state-of-the-art digital solutions such as cybersecurity, Internet-of-Things (IoT), Cloud Services and many more, that will play a critical role in driving digitalisation across Malaysian enterprises.”
“Together with world-class international and local technology partners, Celcom strives to reach out to as many business owners, organisations as well as public sector agencies, with its combined field of expertise, innovative solutions, and backed by our nationwide network infrastructure. Currently, we have the cooperation of 39 technology partners, 24 of which are homegrown organisations, and are actively working towards expanding our ecosystem and the advancement of the nation with technology solutions and services, including the upcoming 5G,” Datuk Idham added.
Celcom has recently organised its Business Tech Week at its headquarters, which was open to businesses of all sizes to discover their digitalisation opportunities. Besides being an established mobile telco, Celcom wants to be an enabler and accelerator for businesses. If you’re a business owner based outside the Klang Valley, Celcom says they are extending the Business Tech Week to other states throughout 2022 to showcase various digital solutions.
