It appears that the current blackouts in Peninsular Malaysia are affecting rail services as well as telecommunication services. Digi has updated that they are currently experiencing network interruptions in most areas in Selangor and the Klang Valley due to the current power outage by Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

Digi didn’t elaborate on the extent of the network interruption but usually telcos should have backup power for most of its critical sites and infrastructure. At the time of writing, Digi is the only telco that’s affected.
Fixed broadband provider Unifi didn’t report any issues but they have tweeted a PSA by sharing the tweet from TNB.

TNB has yet to provide an explanation on the cause of the issue. Based on some tweets, it appears that power has been restored at some locations. Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil had tweeted that the issue is caused by a trip on the 132kV transmission grid. Are you experiencing any issues on your mobile network? Let us know in the comments below.
Saya difahamkan transmission cable 132kV grid trip. Sedang dalam proses baikpulih. https://t.co/jCmdox6rjz
