COVID-19: Malaysia records less than 2,000 new cases for third straight day

Malaysia has recorded 1,745 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 305,880. There are 7 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,148.

The Ministry of Health has reported 2,276 new recoveries and a total of 280,707 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 91.77% while the mortality rate is 0.38%.

There are currently 24,025 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 195 are in ICU while 95 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,745 new cases today, 2 are imported while 1,743 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 640 cases, followed by Johor with 376 cases, Sarawak with 139 cases and Perak with 136 cases.
