COVID-19: Record high 5,725 new cases today, total cases now over 200,000

Malaysia has recorded 5,725 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 203,933. There are 16 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 733.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,423 new recoveries and a total of 157,722 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 77.34% while the mortality rate is 0.36%.

There are currently 45,478 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 301 are in ICU while 115 require respiratory support.

Out of the 5,725 new cases today, 7 are imported while 5,268 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 3,126 new cases today.
